With over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, primarily working with businesses, Monica Coburn saw a critical need to assist businesses in understanding their financials and cash flow. This vision led to the creation of Nevada Business Advisors, a company dedicated to empowering businesses to thrive.

Early Entrepreneurial Journey

Monica's entrepreneurial journey began at the young age of 8, selling Christmas and holiday cards door-to-door in her neighborhood and operating a home-based pop-up shop. This early experience ignited her passion for business. At 25, she launched her own side business, The Personal Shopper, which taught her valuable lessons about entrepreneurship and deepened her commitment to educating and supporting other business owners.

Speaking Engagements and Mentorship

Monica has had the privilege of participating as a speaker and panelist at various business workshops, discussing crucial topics such as access to capital and creating effective business pitches. She also serves as a mentor for the Emerging Leaders Program, administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she guides and supports the next generation of business leaders.

Community Involvement

Her passion extends beyond business coaching to helping the youth in her community. Monica actively volunteers with several charitable organizations, including Project 150, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, and Three Square. These efforts focus on supporting those who need it most and making a positive impact in the community.

Professional Roles and Board Memberships

In addition to her coaching and volunteer work, Monica serves as the 2023 Business Coach for the SBA T.H.R.I.V.E Program for the Las Vegas cohort. She is a member of the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Nevada Business Opportunity Fund and Global Charity Foundation. Monica also serves on the advisory board for Enterprise Bank & Trust and as an alternate member of the Business Development Advisory Council for Clark County. Previously, she was on the Board of Directors for the B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation and Dress for Success Southern Nevada, where she served as the founding chair for their annual signature event.
